Visual Merchandising
Visual
Merchandising
Visual merchandising,
also known as merchandise display design, is a creative career that requires a
well-developed visual sensibility, ingenuity and the ability to work well with
others. Visual merchandisers may develop retail store display windows,
as well as interior displays and decorative seasonal sales display designs.
Clothing and accessories retailers often employ visual merchandisers, but other
types of retailers and wholesalers also need the skills of this professional.
Merchandisers
consider four elements key to achieving the goal of creating a positive
shopping experience for consumers which is storefront , store layout , store interior and interior
displays .As example storefronts must have a clearly identify the name and
general nature of the store and give some hint as to the merchandise inside and
all exterior signage .
Store layout is the
ways that stores use floor space to facilitate and promote sales and serve
customers. There are four distinct spaces which is selling space , storage
space , personnel space and customer
space . Which they have to made a general interior of the store , stockrooms
and inventory , employee lockers and offices , areas of comfort and convenience
for customers .
Besides, lighting was
important but often overlooked element in successful store design . Light was
helping in highlight merchandise and capture a mood of customer . Level of
light can make a difference of look in a store and also bring out a different feeling
to the customer .
In short visual
merchandisers use design training and talent to develop and execute window and
interior displays at retail establishments. They may also develop tradeshow and
road show displays. Interior displays are typically designed to promote products
and/or pricing. Some displays are basic and informative while others,
especially at holiday time, may be more elaborate. Visual merchandisers may be
called upon to develop their own ideas or to implement the designs of others.

Fashion
What is Fashion ?
Fashion. When you hear that word you may very well think of ditsy supermodels that strut around in thousand dollar name brand pieces of fabric. Or you could think of movies like Confessions of a Shopaholic, The September Issue, Coco Before Chanel, or The Devil Wears Prada. But what you most likely don't think of is an art, a career, a passion, or a lifestyle. Fashion can promote creativity, that it is very important in culture, society, and religion, and it can make you look and feel more professional.
Fashion is a general term for a popular style or practice, especially in clothing, footwear, accessories, makeup, body piercing, or furniture. Fashion refers to a distinctive and often habitual trend in the style in which a person dresses or to prevailing styles in behavior Fashion also refers to the newest creations of textile designers. The more technical term costume has become so linked to the term "fashion" that the use of the former has been relegated to special senses like fancy dress or masquerade wear, while "fashion" means clothing more generally, including the study of it. Although aspects of fashion can be feminine or masculine, some trends are androgynous.
